I have been a member of NZAC for 30 years & business partner/counsellor at Aurora Centre in New Plymouth since 1997. I now only work Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays, from 8.30am to 3.30pm. Apart from all the general life issues, I do a lot of clinical supervision & relationship counselling. Historically I have worked a lot as a Family Court counsellor which is frequently high conflict – my first priority in this area is the children’s needs, about which I am passionate, although I work with the parents. I also work with angry clients wanting to change their modus operandi.

My original degree was a B.Agr.Sc, (I was an Agricultural Engineering Consultant) so my background is strongly rural, but I retrained as a counsellor in the 90s. I was involved in Play Centre, tutoring in parenting, stress management & basic counselling skills. I was the trainer for Lifeline Taranaki for a number of years.

I am a parent, step parent, grandparent, great grandparent & was in a relationship for over 40 years. My husband died in 2019 in an accident when he was terminally ill with cancer & my stepson died in 2023 in the Loafers Lodge fire, so I have personal experience of bereavement & grief. For relaxation & to balance my life, I am a fibre artist & enjoy reading, gardening, walking & spending time with family & grandchildren who live in Wellington, Auckland & London.
