Margret is  client focused and works with clients to lessen the hold that problems have in people’s lives and to expand possibilities. In practice now for over 25 years, Margret began her training in counselling at Secondary Teachers’ College. She is comfortable working with a range of issues and clients from all walks of lives. Her training and experiences range from vocational and career-focused work with individuals to working with family, couples and relationships at home and at work. This work has included separation and conciliation work within the Family Court, and domestic violence.   She continues to work with Family Court.

Margret is also accredited to work with ACC sexual abuse clients, and this includes familiarity with issues of sexuality, anxiety, depression and PTSD. While she does not specifically work with children, she remains focused on helping parents to manage issues as they relate to parenting. Margret has completed post graduate study with a Masters’ thesis investigating children’s experiences of separation and in 2010 she received a Doctorate in Health Studies for research into doctor/patient communication specifically relating to weight and health.
