About

We all experience times in life when things are just too much and feel too hard to deal with on our own. It can be hard to talk to friends and family as often there can be an agenda. Counselling is a space where you can be you, without any judgement, and I believe the hard times in life teach us the most.

Counselling is my passion and I enjoy giving people the opportunity to have a space to look at issues without being judged. I believe many people have not had the opportunity to really experience being listened to, this can enable you to create great changes in your life. Education is power, so I will empower clients to learn the tools to address issues and move forward.  My inspiration has always come from the Carl Rogers and this quote describes how I like to work with clients….. “It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried. It began to occur to me that unless I had a need to demonstrate my own cleverness and learning, I would do better to rely upon the client for the direction of movement in the process.” – Carl Rogers

I have worked as a counsellor for over 10+ years. I have regular one on one supervision. I have a commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi, and an awareness of working within a bi-cultural as well as multi-cultural way.

Having had a career in Pharmaceuticals for 10 years I decided to retrain in counselling. I spent 7 years of my counselling career working in organisations, working with individuals, families , children and teenagers addressing a wide range of issues. I am now embracing and loving the opportunities being in private practice brings.

When I’m not working I enjoy relaxing, reading, entertaining, my new found love of yoga, the beach and spending time with my huge family and amazing friends.
