My goal and hope are that people come away not just feeling good (seen/understood) from the talk but having practical things they can apply in their life between sessions, to help them work on the problems they have identified.

This is mostly through having trained in Narrative Therapy, which focuses on shifting the problem. I also use skills from my training in Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and couples training (primarily differentiation models), all of which I use regularly in my practice, as appropriate.

I support clients who are on medication or considering it, to work through how it might support them. The same applies to any diagnosis they might have received or be considering.
