About

Simone Kinley has 30 years’ experience working in the field of mental health previously as a clinical nurse therapist. Simone holds a degree in Nursing and post graduate diplomas in Mental Health Sciences and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).  Simone has expertise in other treatments including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) for trauma (which she has a special interest in). Simone was a first responder for the 2011/12 earthquakes and The Mosque Event 2015.

Simone currently works part-time at Te Whatu Ora as the Welfare Advisor for the Specialist Mental Health Service delivering workshops on Cultivating Wellbeing and Resilience, Understanding Burnout and Managing Change. A major part of the role is also connecting staff to care.  Simone also has a thriving private practice with a focus on resilience, burnout and developing skills managing anxiety and mood disorders.

Simone has many years’ experience in facilitating debriefings (both privately and for the hospital), for staff who experienced trauma in the workplace. Simone has experience delivering seminars and workshops at tertiary level to Health professionals (CBT principles). She is a long-standing Board member for ANZACBT currently acting in the secretary role having professional memberships/ practicing certificate with NCNZ and NZNO.

Clients respond to Simone’s warmth, approachability and skilfulness in dealing with difficult themes in a validating and direct way.
