I have thirty years of experience in the mental health and addiction field.  The first qualification I got  when I left school was nursing and I have gone on to gain other qualifications throughout my professional life.

My work life is a mixture of supervision, counselling and training.

I have developed and delivered Training packages in the areas of:

  • Leadership – particularly in the area of challenging conversations and performance improvement plans for Team Leaders new to stepping up
  • De-escalation
  • Customer focus when working with refugees and migrants
  • Prevention of bullying and Harassment

Aside from the experience  I have gained from working in the health sector and delivering training, the main modality that informs my work is role analysis. Role analysis comes from my training as a role trainer with the psychodrama association (AANZPA) I also draw on the most current evidence based practice in the AOD field: CBT, ACT and sensory modulation.

Recently I have enjoyed doing more leadership coaching, with the manager assist programme.  I am developing a personal interest in assisting managers to help nerodiverse employees to thrive in the work place.
